LippieTintz was born from intention, and that intention is rooted in the way I connect with people, my understanding of beauty, and the way I move through the world. When I created this brand, I wanted every product to reflect depth and purpose, and to feel grounding, soft, warm, and connected to real energy. To shape my founder story, I asked people who know me personally, professionally and academically how they see me. This was done through an anonymous survey with questions regarding my strengths, my personality, and the qualities they naturally associate with me. Their responses were warm, honest, and surprisingly consistent. To make sense of them on a deeper level, I compared what they said with two major skills & competencies frameworks used in Canada (ESDC) and the U.S. (O*NET). These systems translate everyday strengths by grouping them into themes like creativity, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and wellness knowledge. Here are the results and how they show up in the founding of LippieTintz:
Emotional intelligence & connection
Emotional understanding is a big part of who I am. My network described me as someone who listens deeply, understands emotions, and makes others feel at ease. In skill frameworks, these qualities fall under things like empathy, social awareness, communication, and service-orientation. I carried these qualities with me when creating LippieTintz. My goal has always been for the brand to feel warm, comforting and supportive. This shows up in the way products are designed to feel calming, grounding, and intentional. I want beauty to support energy, not just appearance.
Creativity
Creativity is the core of how I move through the world. Survey responses consistently mentioned my love for beauty, art, dance, design and all things creative. The frameworks translated this into creative thinking, originality, design knowledge, and artistic expression.
Structure
People highlighted that I’m organized, strategic, and naturally entrepreneurial. I bring structure and follow through with my ideas. The frameworks associated these characteristics with leadership, planning and organizing, decision-making, and project execution. This is the part of me that brought LippieTintz to life, from formulating each product to designing the packaging, branding, and long-term vision.
Wellness
Another common set of themes in the survey were self-awareness, balance, spirituality, grounding, and overall well-being. In the skill systems, these map to wellness knowledge, emotional balance, and holistic awareness. These qualities guide how I choose ingredients, textures, and the overall feeling behind each product. I hope for LippieTintz to feel clean, comforting and supportive because I believe beauty should contribute to a person’s sense of clarity and confidence.
