Do you give yourself enough love?
Are you able to fill your own love tank?
These are questions we should always ask ourselves. Asking ourselves questions is the first step to becoming more aware of ourselves as individuals. Self love may be described in many ways, primarily it is the ability to feel loved and cared for by your own actions. Filling your tank first starts when you know about yourself. When you consistently do the the things that make you feel joyous, loved and free, you are filling your love tank and lifting your spiritual vibration. When dealing with mental health, self love shows up in various ways. For example self love can look like spending time with loved ones, having a spa day, spiritual practices or simply waking up in the morning, looking at yourself in the mirror and saying "I love you". If you are fairly new to connecting deeply with yourself, these are three questions you can ask to further your understanding of self:
Do you listen to your body?
Do you feel uncomfortable saying how you truly feel?
Are you able to enforce your boundaries without having to explain yourself?
If the answers were yes, then you are showing yourself love by focusing on your mental health. If not, it might be time to sit with yourself and have a conversation. It is important to be aware of ways in which you might be ignoring your needs. By asking yourself questions and being real with the way you feel, what you want and the type of life you are trying to live; you are able to show up for yourself. Healing, growing and learning also dip into the self love category. When you feel lost or ungrounded, ask yourself the questions below. Using these questions as a guide to deepen your self awareness will help identify what your emotions are trying to teach you.
- Are you able to fill your love tank?
- What makes you feel free?
- What non material thing gives you the most joy?
-
How can you be more loving to yourself?
